Description
(009-OD) Introduction to PBPK Modelling | On-Demand Workshop
Description
This workshop introduces the core concepts and applications of PBPK modelling linked to in vitro–in vivo extrapolation (IVIVE). You will explore how systems, drug and trial design parameters are separated, and how physiological and biological data are used to predict pharmacokinetic parameters and profiles. The workshop also covers the use of PBPK models to predict transporter function, and metabolism- and transporter-mediated drug–drug interactions.
Participation is restricted to email addresses from verified organisations.
Course Structure
The course is available for 30 days from the date of registration, so you can work through the material at your own pace. You will receive a certificate of achievement on successful completion.
To encourage active engagement, recordings and lecture slides are not available for download.
Once registered, you can access the course through your Dashboard. Each purchase covers a single seat and login credentials must not be shared — please buy an additional seat for each person attending.
This is a pre-recorded course from the Student Boot Camp held in July 2026. References to the Simcyp Simulator are illustrative only; simulator access is not included with this on-demand course.
Objectives
Session 1: Systems Pharmacology Approach to PK Variability
Prediction of metabolic clearance; in vitro–in vivo extrapolation using different systems; incorporation of variability in clearance prediction; Simcyp Simulator demonstration.
Session 2: Quantitative Prediction of Gut Wall Permeability and Metabolism
Special populations; prediction of concentration–time profiles.
Session 3: Drug-Drug Interactions and Transporter IVIVE
DDI including changes in enzyme levels; IVIVE of transporters and DDI.
Certificate
By completing/passing this course, you will attain the certificate 004-OD Intro to PBPK
